QUALITY

Quality is the totality of features


and characteristics of a product or
service that bear on its ability to
satisfy stated or implied needs.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Comprises of all those planned and


systematic actions necessary to
provide adequate confidence that
a product or service will satisfy
given requirements for quality.

QUALITY CONTROL

Comprises of all the operational


techniques and activities that are
used to fulfill requirements for
quality.

INSPECTION

Activities such as measuring,


examining, testing, gauging one or
more characteristics of a product
or service and comparing these
with specified requirements to
determine conformity.

NON-CONFORMITY

The non-fulfillment of specified


requirements.

NON-CONFORMITY
Repair: Remedial action taken to
restore, for usage, a once
conforming but now nonconforming product.
Rework: The action taken on a nonconforming product so that it will
fulfill the specified requirements.

CODES

These are mandatory requirements


imposed by the country law and
regulations for ensuring safety to
the society and environment.
Codes are normally defined as laws
and cannot be changed under
mutual agreement between the
purchaser and supplier.

STANDARDS

These are basis of agreements


used between the purchaser and
supplier based on common
practices available at national or
international levels.

Check for the material request from OP&C


and the stores LAS
Compare with the GMS/Drawing for
material spec.,and size
Verify the identification and size of the
material with the attestation being
generated
Also check for the surface condition of the
material/component
If acceptable clear the attestation card

In-Process Inspection

Marking -Identification and size,Material identification
