Stenhouse's Model

This document presents Lawrence Stenhouse's process model of curriculum development. Stenhouse believed teachers should play an active role in educational research and curriculum design. His model focuses on teacher and learner activities, and the conditions of learning. It emphasizes means over ends and gives learners a role in deciding learning activities to make them more individualized. Teachers applying this model in Malaysia realize that effective teaching involves not just lesson plans but also the teacher's personality, beliefs, values and expectations for students. It also stresses interaction between teachers and learners.
