The Railway Children Notes
Event 1
1) The children prevent a terrible train
accident during a landslide.
The children see a landslide when they were
walking by the fence.
Trees and rocks fell across the railway line.
Then, they realise that the 11.29 train has not
passed yet.
The children want to stop the train.
They use the red petticoats and sticks and wave
them at the coming train.
The train stops and it is saved.
Event 2
2) The children take good care of mother
when she is ill.
Mother is ill and the doctor writes the things
that she needs to buy.
The children ask the old gentleman to help
them.
The old gentleman buy the things for
mother.
They promise that him that Father or Peter
would pay him later.
Event 3
3) The children rescue Jim.
One day, the children want to watch an event near the railway line.
They can see a group of boys enter the railway tunnel.
The last boy in the group is wearing a red shirt.
They notice the boy in the red shirt does not come out from the tunnel.
They are worried about him.
After that, the children want to look for the boy inside the tunnel.
In the tunnel they can see the boy lying quietly beside the railway line.
The boy broke his leg and cannot walk.
Then, Peter and Phyllis ask for help from a nearby farm while Bobbie
waits with the boy.
Then, some men from the farm help carry the boy, Jim, to the childrens
home.
Next day, the Old Gentleman who is the boys grandfather arrives.
