Condenser Surface: Hotwell Condensate Sump

The condenser surface was inspected and some minor corrosion was found in certain areas. A thin layer of rust was seen on condenser plates, and more severe corrosion was near welds and stiffeners in one transition area. The tube bundle and tube sheets were found to be in perfect condition with no contamination. The water boxes were also in perfect condition with an intact epoxy coating, though dust and dirt were found at the bottom. The neck showed more corrosion on the lower faces likely due to temporary water accumulation during assembly.

CONDENSER SURFACE

HOTWELL CONDENSATE SUMP

It was not found pitingo advanced corrosion on the plates of the body princpal.
It can be seen that there is a thin layer of rust beginning to manifest.
Most of the corrosion found comes from area where the welds made.
It has been found in some severe corrosion more stiffeners near the transition
Zana.

Tube Bundle

Not found ends oxide contaminated plates carbon steel tubes.

CONDENSER SURFACE
WATER BOXES

It has been found that the water boxes are in perfect condition.
No discontinuities found in the epoxy coating.
It is consultation with the manufacturer on the installation of sacrificial anodes and
performance, since coatings are normally submerged generally try spark test
unless they have additional protection.
Tube sheets is in perfect condition.
It has been found dust and dirt at the bottom of the boxes, since the provisional
coverage does not prevent the passage of rainwater and dust.

CONDENSER SURRFACE
Neck

It was found in the lower faces greater than the hot well corrosion due to
temporary accumulation of water sometime an assembly.
