We usually mention a TIME

Verb be (was-were)

SIMPLE PAST with verb BE


In past, verb BE has two forms:
WAS

HE SHE IT

WERE

YOU WE THEY

I was at home last weekend.


They were in class yesterday.

*BE BORN= nacer


The verb nacer in English is formed
in part with the verb BE, so we take
the past form of verb BE according to
the subject to use it.
I was born in 1980
Einstein was born in 1879
The twins were born in 2009
