Checklist for the


Teaching of
Language Arts

Activity: Poem Recital


(Cats Year 5)
1) In a class of 20 pupils, pupils are divided into 2
groups of 8 and a group of 4.
2) In the group of 8, each pupil will be given a cat
puppet.
3) The group has to recite the poem while showing
up their puppets.
4) For the group of 4, the pupils will be doing the
actions of the poem while reciting it.

Cats
One cat, two cats, three cats, four,
Four cats scratching
At my grans back door.
Five cats, six cats, seven cats, eight,
Eight cats scratching
At my grandmas gate.
Four cats, three cats, two cats, one,
One cat napping
In the noon-day sun.

At the old bee-hive.

16 cat stick puppets
PPT slides of the poem/
the book of the anthology
of poem
