PRODUCT?

DEFINITIONS
Audience : any group of people who receive a
media text
Target audience: the demographic of people
most likely to take interest in a particular
media product, thus who it is aimed at.

WIDER AUDIENCES
The wider audiences for films of the teen crime
genre are under 30 and male.
A combination of my YouGov studies indicated
that the wider audiences of films like Kidulthood
and Attack the Block were likely to be in their
20s, living in London, C social grade, communists
and in the entertainment profession.
The BFI Statistical Yearbook data can confirm that
the C1-C2 demographic in London are most fond
of the drama genre.

BLACK BOY AUDIENCE


The audience for my film has been based upon its
USP ; innovative use of special effects, its hybrid
genre characteristics and an intriguing storyline
that will challenge societys stereotypes.
I found them by carrying out a survey and through
comparison to target audiences of films like my
own.
I have identified them as my target audience by
creating characters similar in age and basing the
film around regional familiarities.
