ABSTRACT
Multi-Storey Car Parking is a method of parking
and retrieving cars that typically use a system of
pallets and lifts. The intension is to compact more
cars in the same space , reduce the space needed to
park the same number of cars. Car parks can be
situated above or below ground or a combination of
both. This makes the system modernized and thus
space saving one.
INTRODUCTION
Multilevel or multi-storey parking buildings are
parking buildings that have multiple floors to park at.
The design of a multilevel parking building can be
very different. The most common design is a building
with ramps to move from one level to another. Less
common are that who use lifts to go from level to
level. Then there are also parking buildings with
robotic systems that move cars from one level to
another. The floors of the parking building can either
go up, down or both.
THEORY OF PROJECT
The concept of the building is same but we have
thought of a new design in which we can park bike
and scooter along the building. At the enter and
exit gate we can use interior ramps or vehicle lifts.
In the buildings center we can make parts so that
we can park bike and scooter under that.
The building of the design can be made from
same material which is used in other buildings.
This type of design will help the bike and scooter
owners who cant find parking place in the city
where the traffic is too much. It will also help the
car owners as well.
ADVANTAGES
Any like Newyork, Delhi, London has over five
million cars and two-wheelers on its roads, but not
enough parking spaces. The demand for parking
space has, on an average in the main markets of
Delhi, outstripped demand by 43 per cent. It is not
just a problem of Delhi or Mumbai; all the big cities
in India are facing the space crunch.
Parking space is fast becoming a major issue in
other cities like Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad,
Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Pune and other urban
and semi-urban cities. Multi-storey car parks
provide lower building cost per parking slot, as
they typically require less building volume and
less ground area than a conventional facility with
the same capacity
DISADVANTAGES
Drivers who use multi-story parking facilities,
sometimes known as parking garages, often
enjoy a number of benefits the structures
provide. Despite the ability of the garages to
house a large number of cars, multi-story
parking facilities also carry a number of distinct
disadvantages that arise from their tall, enclosed
and often dimly lit nature.
