Project Report: Monitoring of Industrial Faults by Using RF Signal
This project report summarizes a system for monitoring industrial faults using RF signals. The system has two parts: a fault occurring station and a detection station that communicate over a 200 meter range using RF. The fault occurring station monitors for over voltage, under voltage, over temperature, and power failures. It uses Holtek encoders to encode fault information and transmit it using a TX-434 transmitter. The detection station receives the signals using an RX-434 receiver and decodes the information using a Holtek decoder. The system was tested and proved effective for remotely monitoring industrial faults in hazardous conditions.

Er. Virendra Kumar PRESENTED BY Devendra Prakash Tiwari (CT-1139/06) Avinash Kumar Singh (CT-1157/06 Mohd. Nadeem (CT-1155/06) Ashish Pratap Singh (CT-1149/06) Arpit Maheshwari (CT-1142/06 ) INTRODUCTION The proposed project “MONITORING OF INDUSTRIAL FAULTS BY USING RF SIGNAL” detects the industrial faults which can be given as OVER VOLTAGE, UNDER VOLTAGE, OVER TEMPERATURE & POWER FAILURE. Our device has two parts, Fault occurring station and Detection station. Communication between these two parts is established by the means of RF signal. Our monitoring circuit is controlled remotely with range of coverage of 200 meters. It is used in Industries where a man has to work in hazardous condition. As supervisor cannot stay for a long time at these work places where fault may occur. FAULT OCCURRING STATION DETECTION STATION OBJECTIVES
To monitor over voltage.
To monitor under voltage. To monitor over temperature. To monitor power failure condition. REVIEW OF LITEREATURE
In 1893, Nikola Tesla demonstrated the first public
radio communication.
Wireless communication was invented by JAGADISH
CHANDRA BOSE in 1899. He made remarkable progress in his research of remote wireless signaling. The first public demonstration of wireless telegraphy took place in the lecture theatre of the Oxford University Museum of Natural History carried out by Professor Oliver Lodge.
Early uses of the radio were maritime and military.
Today, radio takes many forms, including wireless networks and mobile communications of all types, as well as radio broadcasting. BLOCK DIAGRAM HOLTEK ENCODER
These encoders are a series of CMOS LSIs for remote
control system applications. They are capable of encoding information which consists of N address bits and 12N data bits. Each address/ data input can be set to one of the two logic states HOLTEK ENCODER FEATURES Operating voltage is 2.4V~12V for the HT12E
Low power and high noise immunity
CMOS technology
Low standby current: 0.1 A (typ.) at
VDD=5V
Data code has positive polarity
Minimal external components
HOLTEK DECODER
Decoders are capable of decoding information
that consist of N bits of address and 12N bits of data. The HT12D is arranged to provide 8 address bits and 4 data bits. HOLTEK DECODER FEATURES
USING RF SIGNAL is working detecting over & under voltage, over temperature and power failure conditions. For security purpose, this circuit is very suitable. It can save industrial units. After being tested the system proves to be convenient and effective. Future aspects
This circuit will be used in small scale industry as
well large scale industrial units.
This device will improve in its performance by using
more sophisticated element as advancement in technology is being achieved as days are passing by.
