Able of Pecifications

The document discusses the table of specifications (TOS), which is a plan prepared by teachers to guide test construction and ensure all course elements are adequately assessed. The TOS is a two-way chart that lists the topics/competencies covered by the test and the number of test items or points allocated to each. It also maps the cognitive levels assessed, such as remembering, understanding, and applying knowledge, based on Bloom's Taxonomy. The document provides steps for preparing the TOS, including listing topics, determining objectives, allocating test items to topics based on time spent teaching, and calculating the number of items per topic. An example demonstrates how to calculate the percentage and number of items for a specific topic.

STEPS IN PREPARING THE TOS
1. List down the topics covered for inclusion in the test.
2. Determine the objective to be assessed in the test.
3. Specify the number of days/hours spent for teaching
a particular topic.
4. Determine the percentage allocation of the test items
for each of the topic covered. The formula applied is
as follows:

5. Determine the number of items for every topic by

multiplying the percentage of allocation for each
topic to the total number of items to be constructed.
FORMULA FOR FINDING THE NUMBER OF
ITEMS FOR EACH COMPETENCY:
EXAMPLE:
Mrs. Reyes utilized 10 hours for teaching the unit
on Pre Spanish Philippines. She spent 2 hours in
teaching the topic, Early Filipinos and their
Society. What percentage of test items should
she allocate for the topic?
