was established in 2004 to be used as
the primary reference for defining the
road signs and traffic devices to be
used on the road network, as well as
the circumstances under which these
devices should be arranged to provide

and specifications, and establish and implement
traffic engineering policies through analysis and

Maintenance (BOM), Bureau of
Construction (BOC) and the
Regional Office is hereby
created.

01 Ensure that a standardized system of signs and traffic


management is observed in all maintenance and
construction roadwork sites in accordance with the
Department's roadworks safety program;

02 Check compliance of on-going projects to roadworks safety


and traffic management plans and specifications; and,

03 Determine the adequacy of signages and traffic control


devices including the circumstances under which these
devices should be arranged in on-going projects to ensure
roadworks safety

and report contractors and implementing offices that are not
properly observing/implementing roadworks safety, traffic
