Cotton Loder Casting

The Cotton wrist splint was proposed in 1924 to mechanically restore volar tilt of the wrist. The splint places the wrist in extreme palmar flexion between 70-80 degrees and ulnar deviation of 20-30 degrees with the forearm in neutral rotation, compressing the median nerve against the transverse carpal ligament.
