task. It can be

a. Tape Measure

– is
used in taking body measurement, drafting
pattern, and fabric lay outing
b. Ruler

–is used in drawing lines and measuring length


and width of fabrics.
c. Yardstick/meterstick

– is
also used in measuring fabric, hem lengths, and
checking grain line. It is also used in marking long
straight lines.
d. Seam Gauge

– is
used to have detailed measurements, such as the
distance between buttons, hems, etc.
CUTTING TOOLS
- is any tool that is used
to remove material from
the workpiece by means
of shear deformation.

a. Scissors

– is a pair of sharp metals used for trimming seam


,cutting pattern pieces, and thread.
b. Pinking Shears

– is used for cutting fabrics creating zigzag edge and for finishing hem, edges,
seam etc.
c. Seam Ripper

– is a handy tool for taking out seams and removing stitches.


d. Shears

– are used for cutting fabrics. The small opening of the shear’s handle
is for the thumb while the large opening is for two or more fingers.
