2 GDS Introduction - Getting Started - Lesson 1

This document provides an overview and introduction to the Grid Developer System (GDS) software for setting up and running FLO-2D hydrodynamic models. It outlines the key components and workflow of the GDS, including importing terrain data, creating the grid system, interpolating elevations, defining inflows and boundaries, and running and visualizing output from the FLO-2D model. The document also describes some of the input data requirements and format options as well as new features available in the GDS.

Interpolate from multi-files
• The DTM data can be space or coma
delimited and several files can be selected at
one time.
• Several Data Formats
• Interpolates using average within each grid
element.
• Grid elements without points are identified.
Elevation Options

Select from four options…

Delete elevation points from outside a prescribed

range:
New Features GDS

GDS Project Workflow
• Import elevation data
• Enter grid element size and create grid
• Setup modeling boundary
• Interpolate elevations to grid
• Enter inflow hydrographs
• Specify outflow elements
• Run FLO-2D model
