Millenium Development Goal 7 C

Goal 7 of the Millennium Development Goals aims to ensure environmental sustainability by halving the proportion of people without access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation by 2015. As of today, 663 million people still use unimproved drinking water sources and 2.4 billion people use unimproved sanitation facilities, with 946 million practicing open defecation. Progress is measured using indicators like the proportion of households with access to safe drinking water, incidence of childhood diarrhea, and the percentage of households practicing open defecation or with adequate sanitation facilities.
