Writing a Cover Letter
Purpose of the Cover Letter
1. To introduce you to the person who is hiring
for the job
2. To demonstrate your interest in the company
or a specific vacancy
3. To draw attention to your resume and
motivate the reader to interview you
Writing Your Message
1. Before writing try to find out the name of the
person you are writing to.
2. If you don’t know the gender of the person,
just write the full name or initials.
3. But if you don’t know the name, you may just
put his/her title.
4. If you only know the address, just use a
generic greeting.

● Action: “Your interview is scheduled for
