Institution

• SENAMHI , National Service of Meteorology and


Hydrology of Peru.
• Senamhi is a governmental institution in charge of
monitoring and research of weather and climate
conditions in our country.
• Research domains: climate change, weather numerical
prediction, hydrology and environmental studies.
• SENAMHI collaborate with international projects such
as EELA, and its partner of IRD (France). Senamhi is
also member of the WMO (World Meteorological
Organization)

Numerical Prediction Centre

• Numerical Prediction Centre (NPC) is the office in


charge to make simulations of weather and climate
conditions using numerical models in SENAMHI.
• We use clustering to make simulations and another
techniques such as ensembles, or generation of
climate scenarios.
• Physicists, meteorologists and engineers are part of
the multidisciplinary staff.

SENAMHI CA

• At the time we do not have a Peruvian CA that can


provide digital certificates for local research
community.
• Certificates granted by SENAMHI can not to be used in
any commercial activity.
• We will provide certificates to other scientific and
research national institutions in Peru.

Are Potential Users

• Any person, institution or university in Peru whom


require certificates for academic activities or no
commercial activities.
• Public entities like Senamhi whom is dedicated to
investigate new technologies in order to help them
process a big a mount of data in the least a mount of
time.

OpenCA

• We decided to implement OpenCA to generate and


manage digital certificates.
• OpenCA gives us a very friendly interface, plus
documentation for the administration and support in the
generation of certificates.
• We have implemented the version 1.1.0-1 of the OpenCA,
wich is the newest.
