Exponential Inequalities 2

This document discusses different types of exponential inequalities: those with the same base, those with similar bases that can be rewritten in terms of the same base, and those where the base is less than 1. Exponential inequalities involve variables as exponents and are useful for situations involving repeated multiplication or comparison to a constant value, such as interest calculations. The key is applying concepts from direct evaluation of exponents based on whether the bases are the same or can be made the same.

EXPONENTIAL INEQUALITY

MATH 111
Exponential Inequality
• Are inequalities in which one (or both) sides involve a variable
exponent.
• It has any exponential function.
• They are useful in situations involving repeated multiplication,
especially when being compared to a constant value, such as in the
case of interest.
Types of evaluating
EXPONENTIAL INEQUALITY
EXPONENTIAL INEQUALITIES – Same Base
EXPONENTIAL INEQUALITIES – Similar Base
EXPONENTIAL INEQUALITIES – Base Less than 1
SAME BASE : Jockaliah Nombre

•When both sides of an inequality have the same base,

the key facts from the introduction can be applied
directly.
•This concept can also be applied to larger "stacks" of
exponents.
SIMILAR BASE : Rey Anne Mirambel

•In many inequalities, the bases are different but can be

rewritten in terms of the same base.
•The same concept can be applied when there are several
terms.
BASE LESS THAN 1 : Hillary Duyungan

• In the case where the base is less than 1, the previous intuition is essentially
reversed: the larger side is now the one with the smaller exponent.
