Assignment No:-01: Name:-Snehal - Satyavrat.Yadav ROLL - NO:-42

This document discusses different types of graphs used for data visualization: 1. A bar graph compares data categories using bars of different lengths. Bar graphs have horizontal and vertical axes. 2. A box plot visually represents the minimum, quartiles, and maximum of a data set. 3. A scatter plot shows the relationship between two variables by plotting their values along x and y axes. 4. A histogram displays the distribution and frequency of continuous data values. 5. A quantile plot evaluates how close a variable's distribution is to a normal distribution. 6. A quantile-quantile plot compares the quantiles of two data sets to determine if they come from the same distribution.

ASSIGNMENT NO:-01

 NAME:-SNEHAL.SATYAVRAT.YADAV
 ROLL.NO:-42
Bar Plot

 A bar graph (also known as a bar chart or bar

diagram) is a visual tool that uses bars to
compare data among categories. A bar graph
may run horizontally or vertically. The important
thing to know is that the longer the bar, the
greater its value.
 Bar graphs consist of two axes. On a vertical bar
graph, as shown above, the horizontal axis (or x-
axis) shows the data categories. In this example,
they are years. The vertical axis (or y-axis) is the
scale. The colored bars are the data series.

• Bar graphs are an effective way to compare

items between different groups.
• Bar graphs are an extremely effective visual
to use in presentations and reports.
Box Plot

 A Box Plot is the visual representation

of the statistical five number summary
of a given data set.
 A Five Number Summary includes:
 Minimum
 First Quartile
 Median (Second Quartile)
 Third Quartile
 Maximum

Scatter Plot

 A scatter plot is a two-dimensional data

visualization that uses dots to represent the
values obtained for two different variables -
one plotted along the x-axis and the other
plotted along the y-axis.
 Scatter plots are used when you want to
show the relationship between two variables.
Scatter plots are sometimes called correlation
plots because they show how two variables
are correlated.
For example this scatter plot shows
the run time between two nodes.

Histogram Graph

 A histogram is a plot that lets you discover, and

show, the underlying frequency distribution (shape)
of a set of continuous data. This allows the
inspection of the data for its underlying distribution
(e.g., normal distribution), outliers, skewness, etc.
Advantages of Histogram

Some of the advantages of the histogram are:

 Histogram makes our task easier to identify different
data, the frequency of the data occurring in the dataset
and categories which are difficult to interpret in a tabular
form.
 It helps to visualize the distribution of the data.
 When we have huge datasets it can be easily visualized
using a histogram.
 It also helps get an understand of the skewness of the
data.
Quantile Plot

 The Normal Quantile Plot option adds a graph to

the report that is useful for visualizing the extent
to which the variable is normally distributed.
 If a variable is normal, the normal quantile plot
approximates a diagonal straight line.

Quantile-Quantile Plot

 The quantile-quantile (q-q) plot is a

graphical technique for determining if two
data sets come from populations with a
common distribution. A q-q plot is a plot of
the quantiles of the first data set against
the quantiles of the second data set.
 The advantages of the q-q plot are:
 The sample sizes do not need to be
equal.
 Many distributional aspects can be
simultaneously tested.
