General Biology 2
Task
• You have recently graduated from SHS and
have just landed on your summer part-time job!
Thanks to your extensive science background,
you have been hired as a Youth Educator by
San Juan de Dios Hospital. Your position
requires you to research diseases that affect
members of the community and present your
work to students at SJDEFI- College.
Task
Your supervisor at the hospital has just given you
your first assignment:
• You will visit the SHS classes and speak to the students
about a disease that affects the human body.
• Your presentation should be informative
• You should present your material in a manner that 16 to
18 year olds can understand
• Your presentation should be interesting and hold the
attention of your audience
• You must have a strong visual presentation.
Process

• The supervisor is asking you to present the


information on the human disease orally AND you
are also required to leave informative material
behind for the students to review later. Thus you
have to prepare a tri-fold brochure.
It must include the following information
about your disease:

1. A basic description of the disease


2. A brief history of the disease
3. Age group/gender/cultural group most affected by the disease
4. The symptoms of the disease
5. How the body is affected by the disease
6. Cures or treatments for the disease
7. What causes the disease (how can a person get it?)
8. How a person's daily life is affected by the disease
9. Number of people affected by the disease
10. Work Cited Page with at least three different sources.
