due. Therefore, here are four tips

on how to overcome this barrier.
DON'T #3: MISS OUT ON YOUR LECTURES

It has been proven that if you miss out one hour of a lecture, it will take two hours of your time to
catch up. Some people have different learning skills, and they prefer to stay home and study from there
using the lecture recordings. However, it is not confirmed that all of your lectures will be recorded. As
a student, I have a better understanding of the context when I attend the lecture. If I were to stay
home and study from there, I would easily get distracted by other factors. When I attend my lecture, I
am exposed to many positive factors that can help me understand the context better. I am also able to
ask the lecturer questions and so on. I highly recommend you attend all your lectures.
DON'T #4: COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS

DON’T COMPARE YOUR FAILURE TO OTHERS SUCCESS

Instead of comparing your failures to others success, look at what you did wrong and find out ways to improve
yourself. Instead of trying to see who is better than the other, help one another out. We all want to see our Maori
and Pacific people succeed therefore uplift each other. If you didn’t get the grade you hoped for, don’t look down on
yourself instead work harder and learn from your mistakes.
University can be very challenging, It will test you mentally and physically and can even break you to where you’ll feel like giving up. I myself have felt
like giving up many times, especially when I didn’t get the grade I wanted or when I couldn’t be bothered to study. 2 things that helped me get through
this bad mentality and can also help you was connecting with GOD and My family and friends. Whenever I was at the verge of giving up I would pray to
GOD and ask him to help me with my journey and this would spiritually build me up and enable me to keep going and not give up so easily. Also my family
and friends would give me the perfect reminder I needed to not give up with their words of encouragement and stories of their struggles it would give me
the right motivation to not give up. Thus if YOU ever feel like giving up, use my 2 options to help give you MOTIVATION or find what your true MOTIVATION
is and lock it in your head, so that whenever you feel like GIVING UP, It will MOTIVATE YOU NOT TO!.
