Fryderyk Chopin was a Polish pianist and composer born in 1810 who is considered one of the greatest composers for the piano. He was born in Poland but spent much of his adult life in Paris, France. Some of his most famous compositions include the Ballade No. 1 in G Minor, Op. 23, the Scherzo No. 2 in B-Flat Minor, Op. 31, and the Minute Waltz. He had a long romantic relationship with the French author George Sand and spent summers with her at her home in Nohant, France. Chopin died in Paris in 1849 at the young age of 39.
