Emotional and Erratic cluster


(Cluster B personality disorders are characterized by dramatic, overly emotional or unpredictable
thinking or behavior.)
There are four personality disorder including:
• Antisocial personality disorder
• Histrionic personality disorder
• Narcissistic personality disorder
• Borderline personality disorder
Antisocial Personality Disorder
Antisocial personality disorder is a
particularly challenging type of
personality disorder characterized
by impulsive, irresponsible and
often criminal behavior.
A person with antisocial personality disorder
may:
• be unable to control their anger.
• lack guilt, or not learn from their mistakes.
• blame others for problems in their lives.
• repeatedly break the law.
• Place themselves in dangerous and risky situation.
Criminal behavior is a key feature of antisocial
personality disorder, and there's a high risk that
someone with the disorder will commit crimes.
Histrionic Personality Disorder
Persons with Histrionic Personality
Disorder are characterized by a
pattern of excessive emotionality
and attention seeking. Their lives
are full of drama (so-called "drama
queens").
People with this disorder often are:
• exaggerated expressions of emotions.
• incessant drawing of attention to oneself.
• overreaction to minor events.
• vain and demanding behavior.
• extreme concern with physical appearance.
Narcissistic Personality Disorder
• The word narcissism meaning self-love or admiration
for ones self.
• People with this personality disorder believes they
are superior to others.
People with this disorder often:
• Believing that you're better than others.
• Fantasizing about power, success and attractiveness.
• Believing that you're special and acting accordingly.
• Expecting others to go along with your ideas and
plans.
• Being jealous of others.
• Believing that others are jealous of you.
• Trouble keeping healthy relationships.
• Setting unrealistic goals.
• Being easily hurt and rejected.
• Status is very important to people with Narcissistic
Personality Disorder. Associating with famous and
special people provides them a sense of importance.
These individuals can quickly shift from over-
idealizing others to devaluing them.
Borderline Personality Disorder
• Poor self-image identity with an abnormal level of
mood swings. Their emotional volatility leads to
impulsive and self destructive behavior.
Common Symptoms of the Disorder includes:
• Inappropriate or extreme emotional reactions.
• Highly impulsive behaviors.
• A history of unstable relationships.
• Intense, highly changeable moods that can last for
several days or for just a few hours.
• Strong feelings of anxiety, worry and depression.
• Impulsive, risky, self-destructive and dangerous
behaviors, including reckless driving, drug or alcohol
abuse.
