• Following the verb is another noun/adjective

First pattern:
Subject Verb

•The most basic and simple sentence pattern.


•The meaning of a sentence in this pattern is simply that the
subject did something.

Second pattern:
Subject Verb Noun

•This pattern consists of a subject, linking verb and noun.


•The noun completes a linking verb and renames the subject.
•In this pattern, a linking verb links or connects the Subject to a noun
or pronoun.
•Words such as be, become, remain, appear, seem, continue, stay, and
make are linking verbs.

Third pattern:
Subject Verb Object

• It is a sentence where the subject comes first, the verb second,


and the object third.

Forth pattern:
Subject Verb adjective

•It is a sentence where the subject comes first, the verb second, and the
adjective third.
•An adjective: is a word that gives instant information about a noun to
make a clear picture of the noun in the mind of the reader and create a
feeling of the writer.

Fifth pattern:
Subject Verb Adverb

•It is a sentence where the subject comes first, the verb second, and the
adverb third.
•An adverb: it tells us when, where, how, in what manner, or to what
extent an action is performed. An adverb is typically used to modify a
verb, but an adverb can also modify an adjective or another adverb.
