Types of Programmed Decisions

1. Procedure:
 A series of sequential steps a manager uses to
respond to a structured problem.
2. Rule:
 An explicit statement that tells a manager what
can or cannot be done.

3. Policy:
 A guideline for making a decision.

Unstructured Problems and Non-
Programmed Decisions
 Problems that are new or unusual and for
