This document describes an RFID based automatic fuel filling system presented by Mg Aung Thu Phyoe. The system aims to make fueling faster and less time consuming. It uses RFID technology for customer authentication at the fuel station. When an authorized customer's tag is detected, the system retrieves their account information and allows fuel to be dispensed by entering the amount. At the end, the remaining balance is updated for the next use. The overall system consists of an Arduino, RFID reader, LCD display, pump, keypad and relay.

Introduction
With the rapid growth of life, usage of automobile is increasing day by day, leading to
an increase of fuel filling stations. In the present scenario, these filling stations are totally
manually operated which consumes time & requires man power.
So RFID based automatic fuel filling system is made to fill fuel automatically, would
be cost effective, open 24*7, minimum labours required and optimum time taken to fill fuel.
Automatic fuel filling system which is meant to be operated with prepaid card using RFID
technology.
Aim
The main aim of the system is to safe and secure fuel delivery and become faster and
less time consuming.
Objectives
The main objectives of the system is :
• to provide easy access and save time in the petrol bunk.
• to prevent corruption at fuel stations.
• to excellence facility to the customers by using RFID technology.
Overall of the system
The RFID readers at the fuel stations are used to identify for customer authentication
approaching the fuel dispenser and customers must purchase for account balance at admin. As
a tag ID is detected, the system will retrieve related information from the database, and
recognize the validity of this ID. Unauthorized customer cannot get the fuel. Else, if the
customer is authorized to show the account balance and get the fuel by typing fuel amount in
keypad, the system will activate the fuel dispenser to supply the fuel for vehicle.
At the end of the fueling process, the system turns off the dispenser and then the
remaining amount will be set for user account as the new balance to be fueled next time.

Requirements and Parts

• Arduino Uno Board

• RFID Module

• LCD Display

• Pump

• Keypad

• Relay
Arduino UNO
The Arduino Uno is an open-source microcontroller board based on the Microchip
ATmega328P microcontroller and programmable with Arduino IDE (Integrated Development
Environment) via a USB cable.
Specifications :
• Microcontroller : ATmega328
• Operating Voltage : 5V
• Input Voltage (limits) : 6-20V
• Digital I/O Pins : 14 (of which 6 provide PWM output)
• Analog Input Pins :6

RFID Module
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), one method of automatic identification and
data capture uses electromagnetic fields to automatically identify and track tags attached to
objects. Passive tag collect energy from a nearby reader and active tag have a local power
source and operate hundreds of meters from readers.
Specifications :
• Input Voltage : DC 3.3V
• Operating Current : 13-26 mA
• Idle Current : 10-13 mA
• Frequency : 13.56MHz

LCD Display
A liquid-crystal display (LCD) is a flat-panel display or other electronically modulated
optical device that uses the light-modulating properties of liquid crystals. LCD are used in
wide range of applications including LCD television, computer monitors, digital cameras,
watches, calculators and mobile telephones.
Specifications :
• Input Voltage : +5V
• Display Format : 20 Characters x 4 Lines

Pump
A pump is a device that moves fluid (liquids or gases), sometimes slurries by
mechanical action.
Specifications :
• Operating Voltage : DC 12V
• Power consumption : 4.8W
• Rated Current : 0.4A
• Flow Rate : 240L/H

Key Pad
A keypad is a set of buttons arranged in a block or pad which bear digits symbols or
alphabetical letters. Pads mostly containing numbers are called a numeric keypad.
Specifications :
• Maximum Rating : 24 VDC, 30 mA
• Interface : 8-pin access to 4x4 matrix

Relay Module
Relays are switches that open and close circuits electromechanically or electronically.
Relays control one electrical circuit by opening and closing contacts in another circuit.
Specifications :
• Three pins for NO and NC
• Operating Voltage : 5-12 V
• Input Signal : 3-5 V

Conclusion
The project is to provide an authentication to the user and control the opening and
closing of the pump according to amount demanded. The customer need not wait in the petrol
bunk and it reduces the time as well as man power.
So, RFID based automatic fuel filling system become to safety, efficiency and
excellence facility to the user.
