 Swami Tathagatananda
Swami Tathagatananda (Feb 15, 1923 – June 25,
2016), was a Hindu monk of the Ramakrishna
Math and Ramakrishna Mission. He was the
Minister and Spiritual Leader of the Vedanta
Society of New York from November 1977 to June
2016.

 Swami Vivekananda's message on


strength and fearlessness is the subject
of this booklet. He offers inspiring
words that counter personal feelings of
inferiority and helplessness.
SUMMARY

 Chapter – 1
Swami Vivekananda The Dynamic Monk
 Swami travelled whole world for India so that he could
bring wisdom for his country and he got recognised as
an intellectual giant.
 After this, swami ji travelled whole India again to
awaken the new spirit in the people.
 Mahatma Gandhi was also thrilled after he read swami
ji’s writings which also enhanced Gandhi ji’s feeling of
patriotism.
Chapter – 2
Vivekananda’s Source of Strength
 Swamiji was a mighty soul in an energetic body
 His spiritual power was infinite and did not end with
his short life.
 He gave a bold new interpretation of sri krishna’s
message to arjuna from Gita.
 He also talked about power the atman or self.
Chapter – 3
Vivekananda’s Gospel of Manliness
 Authentic messenger of the spirit of the Upanishads
and the Bhagavad Gita.
 Central message of bhagavad gita according to
swami ji was, “to cultivate strenght through spiritual
disciplines.”
 He said, “ if there is anything in this world to be
sinned is FEAR.

Call for A Rajasic Temperament
 He made indian people realise about the power of
rajas that one n all should be energetic and active in
nature.
 He motivated people by saying that they just need a
hero who will be having a tremendous spirit for our
nation.
 He told everyone a fearless message, ‘Arise, awake !’

Education is the Master Key to Human
Development and Unity
 “Education is the manifestation of the perfection
already in man.”
 The true educated mind is characterised by purity,
freedom, self confidence and self respect.
Chapter – 6
Special Advice to Youth
 Swamiji defined the source of our current problems:
“Excess of knowledge and power without holiness
makes human beings devils. Tremendous power is
being acquired by the manufacture of machines and
other appliances and privelege is claimed today as it
never has been claimed in the history of the world.”
Chapter – 7
Dynamic Concept of Non – Violence
 Swamiji believed that nonviolence was a better way
of teaching the strength
 His convictions were, ‘non resistence is the greatest
strength.”
 Also, ‘ forgiveness, if weak and passive, is not true :
fight is better.’

Revolutionary Global Impact of Religion
 “Religion is the manifestation of the divinity already
in man.”
 He breathed new life in to the common goal of every
religion : “Try to be pure and selfish- that is the
whole of religion.”
 His explaination of life burst upon them as
wondrously as the red glaze of the rising sun.
WHY THIS BOOK..?

 This book fascinates me because the author wanted


to aim at the Swami ji’s message of STRENGTH and
FEARLESSNESS . The author focused on strength,
building of character, Swami ji’s teachings , human
development and unity and many more gives
immense motivation and courage to cope up with life
and understand the virtue of life better way.

 Vivekananda’s message:
“I want you to keep your own belief; I want to make
the methodist a better methodist; the unitarian a
better unitarian. I want to teach you to live the truth,
to reveal the light within your own soul.”
CONCLUSION

 In the end we could say that swami ji had the power


of transforming one individual as well as masses
from his own inner strength and depth of spiritual
existence. His lectures and teachings gave people a
new faith, new hopes, new strengths to meet daily
life vicissitudes.
