Detailed Lesson Plan For Science 10: Prepared By: Sylvia C. Enong

The lesson plan describes teaching students about momentum through demonstration activities. Students will learn that momentum (p) is calculated by an object's mass (m) multiplied by its velocity (v), and that objects with greater momentum, due to higher mass or velocity, can do more damage on impact. The lesson involves students performing tasks in groups to investigate momentum through experiments varying objects' masses and velocities, then analyzing and generalizing their findings to relate momentum to real-life situations.

DETAILED LESSON PLAN FOR SCIENCE 10

Prepared by: Sylvia C. Enong

OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, students should
be able to:
1. Describe what is momentum.
2. Compute for momentum of a given
object using a formula p=mv.
2. Relate te concept of momentum ito real
life situations.
ELICIT
What makes things move?
Why do some objects moves
continuously while some moving
objects stop suddenly?
*You have learned that unbalanced
forces causes stationary objects to
move.
Suppose the two vehicles are moving at the same
velocity, both of them suddenly lose their breaks and
crash against the brick wall, which do you think would
be more damaging?
ACTIVITY PROPER
DEMONSTRATION ACTIVITY ABOUT
INVESTIGATING MOMENTUM.
Let the students perform their
assigned tasks.
Group 1. Fill Me Up
Group 2. Analyze Me
Group 3. Generalize me
mass and velocity
p=mv
velocity.
