Smart Machines
• Smart machines are machines that typically do things usually done by people –
tasks never thought to be performed by a machine. They are capable of learning
and using AI methods to act intelligently.
1. Smart machines do not simply support the automation of simple tasks
anymore. Instead they are learning systems that work in a similar way to the
human brain. Therefore, smart machines lead to a reduction of jobs that, until
now, were thought to be secure.

2. The Gartner study hypothesizes that by 2030, up to 90% (!) of all jobs will
be under threat to be replaced by smart machines. By 2023, a third of all
doctors, lawyers, and professors/lecturers will have been replaced by smart
machines or less qualified people using new assistance systems. The job
market, political systems, and society as a whole would have to change
immensely to absorb the changes caused by smart machines.

• Today’s AIs heavily rely on humans to train and teach them on what to do. AI’s may be
able to draw or design a cat, however, they lack the understanding of what that is. A
perfect example of this is Google’s AI experiment in Quick, Draw. The AI is basing its
guess on the past input on how other people had created a particular word.
• Despite the technology-driven world we are in, most people still value the human
touch. Even though AIs can make work through automation easier, human input is still
essential.

FUTURE

There are many things that AI can offer in different industries all over the world. In web
design, based on how the current AI’s are functioning in designing a website, can give
designers more such as:
• Do tedious task and skipping on making a website from scratch.
• Analyze content and user preference to personalize website to
individuals easier.
• Assists professional and beginner web designers alike in projects.
• Enable the average joe to manage their own website without problems.

For a person to evolve, they have to embrace and accept


change in order to move on. AI is one essential part of the
change and is one of the doorways to the future. Instead of
worrying what it may pose in the future, you have to focus on
the now and embrace the change that they represent.
