holistic development - lifelong project a
person has to undertake
- an individual finds meaning and
purpose in life
ASPECTS OF DEVELOPMENT
1. Physical Self
-description of your height, weight, facial
appearance, and quality of skin, hair and
other parts of the body
2. Intellectual Self
- how well you reason and solve
problems
- your capacity to learn and create
- amount of knowledge
- specific areas of knowledge
- wisdom and insights
3. Emotional Self
Feelings :
you have
you try to avoid
you enjoy
from your past and present
4. Sensual Self
- senses you use most
- ways do you let information in and out of
your body
5. Interactional Self
- descriptions of your strengths and
weaknesses in intimate relationships and
relationships to friends, family, strangers,
etc, have noticed

6. Nutritional Self
- how do you nourish yourself
- what foods you like and dislike, why
7. Contextual Self
- maintenance of your environment
reaction to light, temp., space, weather,
colors, sound, and season
8. Spiritual Self or Life Force
- feelings about yourself and organized
religion
- feelings about your spiritual dev’t and
history
- spiritual routine
Three Basic Aspects of the Self
1. physical or tangible aspects - the body, a
place to house the spirit
2. intellectual and conscious aspects - the
mind, learns what to do and
communicates the information to the body
and the feelings.
3. emotional and intuitive aspects- the spirit,
managing feelings is like trying to hold water
in your palm
A REAL WINNER is one who is able to:
a. win over his/her battles and difficulties in
life and turns them into a learning and
glorifying experience
b. find meaning in pleasant and unpleasant
events in his life
c. live in peace with difficult people and
difficult situations
d. win the goodwill of others, their respect
and admiration
e. get what he wants using win-win strategies
never at the expense of others
f. discover and use opportunities to his best
advantage
e. develop and use his talents and abilities to
the best advantage and in so doing, make
meaningful contribution in making this
world a better place to live in
* Success is about right mindset,
emotional resilience and proper behavior
→the capacity to recover
quickly from difficulties
