Pi (∏) is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. It has been approximated for over 4,000 years but its exact value is still unknown. Early Babylonian and Greek mathematicians like Archimedes made some of the first attempts to calculate Pi. Archimedes showed that Pi is between 31/7 and 310/71. Pi is a transcendental number that is impossible to square exactly with compass and straightedge. Mathematicians began using the Greek symbol Pi (∏) in the 1700s. Pi is fundamental in geometry, science, and has applications in many fields like engineering, physics, and technology.

STORY
OF PI(∏) Made by: MADE BY: 1] Jeet 2] Aaryaansh 3] Nityam 4] Akshad 5] Prathemesh 6] Sujal 7] Pranav 8] Savrav Introduction: Pi (∏) is the ratio of circumference of the circle to its diameter.
Pi (∏) has been known for almost 4000
years-but even if we calculate the number of seconds in those 4000 years and calculate ∏ to that no of places, we would still be approximating its actual value. Here’s a brief history of finding ∏. Details: The ancient Babylonians calculated the WITHIN area of a circle by taking 3 times the square of its radius which gave a value of pi = 3.125. One Babylonian tablet (ca. 1900-1680BC) indicates a value of 3.125 for ∏, which is a closer approximation.
The first calculations of ∏ was done by
Archimedes of syracuse (287-212BC), one of the greatest mathematicians of ancient world. Archimedes approximated the area of circle by using the Pythagorean theorem to find areas of two regular polygons: the polygon inscribed within the circle and the polygon within which the circle was circumscribed.
Archimedes knew that he had not found
the value of ∏ but only an approximation within the limits which were there while calculating the vale of ∏. This way, Archimedes showed that ∏ is between 31/7 and 310/71. Description: Pi is approximately equal to 3.14159 . It is also R as Archimedes constant. known
Pi is a transcendental number; that is, not
the root of any polynomial having rational coefficients. The transcendence of ∏ implies that it is impossible to solve the ancient challenge of squaring the circle with a compass and straightedge. A similar approach to that of Archimedes was done by Zu Chongzhi (429-501) a brilliant Chinese mathematician and astronomer.
Mathematicians began using Greek
letter ∏ in the 1700s. Introduced by William Jones in 1706, use of this symbol was popularised by Leonhard Euler, who adopted it in 1737 . Conclusion: Pi is approximately equal to 3.14159 . It is also known as Archimedes constant.

The application of Pi in real life include
several areas like Geometry ,Science, trigonometry and nature, etc.
Pi is also used in most calculations for
building and construction, quantum physics, communications , music theory , medical procedure , air travel, and space flight etc. THANK YOU
