Good with numbers Driver Conduct and Appearance • Abide all laws and regulations • Be courteous and helpful. • Have respect for airport and hotel’s property • Should be neatly dressed • Have a good working knowledge of major routes and destinations, • Follow any direction or route chosen by the passenger • Must ensure lost property left in taxis is handed back to the owner • Must never engage in activity which may negatively influence public perception of the city and the country • Offer reasonable assistance with luggage. Vehicle & Equipment Standards • The vehicle should be clean and roadworthy. • The luggage compartments of the vehicle must be empty • Vehicles must be maintained to meet all legislative requirements • Check for first aid kit and safety vest • Check fire extinguisher • Check seat belts Safe Driving and Fatigue Management • Plan the journey ahead • Do not drive long shifts • Make sure you have a regular sleeping pattern • Take regular breaks • Be aware of your body’s warning signs ie heavy eyelids, lack of concentration, etc. • Have at least one day a week break • Remain hydrated VEHICLE SECURITY • Always lock your vehicle • Never place items of value in your vehicle and leave it unattended.
