Management Communication

Governance relates to defining expectations, granting power, and verifying performance, and can be a separate process or part of management. Management involves planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling resources to accomplish goals. While governance sets vision and policy, management implements policies through decision making. Governance should make way for management in organizations by introducing management processes to enhance transparency, accountability, and success.

management

Governance is the activity of governing. It relates to decisions that define
expectations, grant power, or verify performance. It consists either of a
separate process or of a specific part of management or leadership
processes. Sometimes people set up a government to administer these
processes and systems.

 Through networks involving public-private partnerships (PPP) or with the

collaboration of community organisations
 Through the use of market mechanisms whereby market principles of
competition serve to allocate resources while operating under government
regulation
 Through top-down methods that primarily involve governments and the
state bureaucracy.
 Governance can be said to be representing the owners, or the interest
group of people, who represent a firm, company or any institution. The
governing body, on the other hand, appoints management personnel.

 While governance pertains to the vision of an organization, and

translation of the vision into policy, management is all about making
decisions for implementing the policies.

 Management comes only second to the governing body, and they are
bound to strive as per the wishes of the governing body.
Management in all business areas and organizational activities are
the acts of getting people together to accomplish desired goals and
objectives efficiently and effectively. Management comprises planning,
organizing, staffing, leading or directing, and controlling an
organization (a group of one or more people or entities) or effort for
the purpose of accomplishing a goal. Resourcing encompasses the
deployment and manipulation of human resources, financial
resources, technological resources, and natural resources.

Strategic management is an ongoing process that evaluates and

controls the business and the industries in which the company is
involved; assesses its competitors and sets goals and strategies to meet
all existing and potential competitors; and then reassesses each
strategy annually or quarterly [i.e. regularly] to determine how it has
been implemented and whether it has succeeded or needs replacement
by a new strategy to meet changed circumstances, new technology,
new competitors, a new economic environment., or a new social,
financial, or political environment
Business
• Governance should work as a important part of management in
keeping the firm on track.
• As management itself ensures checks, balances and control
procedures, governance as a separate function can go from a number of
business in for profit organizations.
• Essential in financial corporations.
Government
• Mismanagement is the order of the day.
• Elected representatives have to manage the systems, public resources
and achieve productivity objectives.
• Their work does not end with making the rules, regulations and
ensuring the adherence by the citizens.
• A good manager has to be a good leader.
• High time for removing the “only governance” part from government
and introduce management to enhance transparency and
accountability.

• Success of leaders going the management way.
