Orientation
It given the reader the background
information as two why this person is
Noteworthy and should have a biography
written about the. The opening paragraph
should answer the questions: who, what,
where, when, and how.
Series
It presents a series of events, usually
told in chronological order. Here the
writer might refer to a certain time on
line.
Reorientation
It consists of a type of conclusion with a
comment on the contributions this person
has made or a summary and evaluation
of the person’s achievement.
LANGUAGE FEATURES
1. A biographical recount uses specific names
of the people involved in the biography.
2. It is mainly written in simple past tense (the
final paragraph could also include the present
tense)
3. A biographical recount also uses liking word
to do with time.
4. A biographical recount describes events, so it
uses many verb or action verb.
The Characteristc of Biographical Recount Text

1. It is not written by the subject. It means that a


biography is written by someone else who wants
to write about the subject. It usually will be written
based on the need. Some writer could write it in
either short or long biography.
2. It is always written in the third person
3. It is based on the research not on
imagination. When someone wants to
make a biography, she or he must do
some researches. What kind of researches
are they? Reading all books related to the
subject is one of ways of the research,
besides reading, interviewing subject
relation ( if it is possible) also can be as a
research before writing a biography.
4. Describing the subject’s surroundings (where,
when, and how the person lived)
5. Showing how the person affected other
people’s life through their behavior, discoveries,
social reform etc.
6. Supplying details that illustrate the person’s
individuality.
7.Using vivid language to narrate the events
8. It is arranged chronologically.
Example of biography recount text
R.A Kartini
Each April 21 peolple in indonesia
celebrate the kartini day. It is delightful day
for the lady on the grounds that we praise
the conception of incredible woman R.A.
Kartini. Everybody knows who Kartini is.
She is our national champion and an
extraordinary woman with the brilliant
thought.
Kartini was conceived in 1879 April 21 in
Mayong Jepara. Her dad was Rama
Sosroningrat a Wedana (associate of head of
rule) in Mayong. Her mom, Ma Ngasirah was a
young lady from Teluk Awur town in Jepara as
the little girl of a respectable family, she felt
fortunate in light of the fact that she got more
than the standard individuals got. She
improved instruction than other youngsters. In
november 12 1903 she wedded adipati
djoyodiningrat, the head of rembang rule. As
per Javanese custom Kartini needed to tail her
spouse. At that point she moved to Rembang.
In September 13 1904 she gave a conception to
her child. His name was Singgih. Anyway,
subsequent to conceiving a child, her condition
was deteriorating and she at long last passed
away on september 17 1904 on her 25 years of
age. Presently Kartini has gone. Anyway, her
soul and dream will dependably be in our heart.
These days Indonesian ladies advancement is
affected by kartini’s soul expressed on
accumulation of letter “habis gelap terbitlah
terang” or from the nightfall to the first light.
