Plant and Animal Cell: - Powerpoint Presentation of Group 1

1. The document provides information about plant and animal cells, describing their basic parts and differences. It states that all organisms are made of cells, and cells are so small they can only be seen with a microscope. 2. The three basic parts of cells are described as the nucleus, plasma membrane, and cytoplasm. The nucleus contains DNA and controls cell activities. The plasma membrane encloses the cell and regulates what enters and exits. The cytoplasm is where other cell parts are located. 3. Key differences between plant and animal cells are mentioned, such as plant cells having a cell wall and chloroplasts that animal cells lack. The cell wall provides shape and protection for plant cells, while chloroplasts are important for

PLANT AND ANIMAL CELL

-POWERPOINT PRESENTATION OF GROUP 1

Some
information!!
All organism, big or small consist of cell. Some organism are single –called
composed of only one cell. Others are multicellular, possessing many cell that
work together to form an organism. The moss plant for example, may be
made up of hundred of thousands cell. Your body has billion of cells while
very large of animals like elephants have trillion.

Most cell are so small that can only be seen using the microscope. It is a
special equipment to make small object like cells lock bigger. One kind of
microscope used to study cells is called a light microscope. Light microscope
used diffused or artificial light to illuminate the object to be observed. From
the simplest to the most powerful and sophisticated microscope, scientists
were able to gather information about cells. What you will see and learn
about cells later has been revealed by microscope.
Acells as three basic parts: the
nucleus, plasma membrane and
cytoplasm. The nucleus is a part of
cells which is easily seen.It is very
important because it control all of
the activities of the other parts that
occur within the cell.
 The nucleus contains materials that play a role in heredity.
 The plasma membrane encloses the cell and separates what is
inside it from its environment. It also controls what goes into and out
of the cell. The plasma membrane allows entry of materials needed
by the cell and eliminates those which are not needed.
 The cytoplasm consists of a jelly-like substance where all the other
parts of the cell are located. It does not however, include the area
where the nucleus is located. Many different activities of the cell
occur in the cytoplasm.
 You have seen that plant cells have cell walls and
chloroplast that are not found in animal cells. The cell
wall is made of stiff material that forms the outermost
part of plant cells. This gives shape and protection to
them. Chloroplasts are important in plant cells because
it is where food is make. It contains chlorophyll, a green
pigment, which absorbs energy from the sun to make
food for plant.
