Objectives:
1-This presentation will walk through the process of setting up
your own data for Inventory Optimization. As preparation for
this, you should be familiar with the ASCP setup script.

2-The purpose of this document is to provide an overview of


Inventory Optimization and illustrate the typical interaction a
planner would have with IO.

Step-1: Create ABC Class
1. Create ABC class
(N) Inventory > ABC Codes > ABC Classes
2-Create ABC Assignment Group

(N) Inventory > ABC Codes > ABC Assignment Groups


3-Assign ABC Classes to ABC Assignment Groups

Click on the Assignment Group you just created.


(B) Group Classes
The ABC Group Class Assignment form is displayed
4-Update Item Assignments
At this step, we will manually add your items to the ABC Assignment
Group.

5-Set the Default ABC Assignment Group

(N) Material Planning > Setup > Parameters


The Planning Parameters form is displayed
Step-2 Run ASCP Collections

Enter Parameters for Planning Data Pull.


(N) Advanced Planning > Advanced Supply Chain Planning >
Collections > Oracle Systems > Data Collection
Step-3 Create Inventory Plan
1-Create Inventory Plan
(N) Advanced Planning > Inventory Planning > Inventory Plan > Names
The select Organizations dialog box will be displayed.
2-Complete the Main Tab

(B) Plan Options


A message stating: “Plan start date moved to start of next bucket, start
of the current bucket is less than the current date.”

3-Complete the Organizations Tab
4-Complete the Constraints Tab
Step 4 Launch Inventory Optimization
Plan
• Launch Inventory Optimization Plan.
• (B) Launch Plan
• The Launch Inventory Plan Parameters form is displayed.
• (B) OK
• The Launch Inventory Plan form is displayed.
• (B) Submit

• This concludes how the IO is Setup and Planning
done.
