RELEVANCE OF HR IN
TODAY’S WORLD

 HR is a company’s human resource multiplier. The functions of
an HR professional should focus on the company’s greatest
resource of all – its employees. Without good employees, the
best business plan and ideas will fail.
 Management development and training : One way to be a
company resource multiplier is to help managers be better
managers, which in turn will help prevent or eliminate
distractions for your employees. Employees don’t leave bad
companies, they leave bad bosses, The role of HR in a company
is to help develop and coach managers to do the best job
possible. HR professionals have a lot of experience working
with employees in all sorts of situations. HR’s role is to advise
and assist management on how to manage employees and deal
with difficult situations.

 Keeping management focused on their job : HR is important for
managers so that they can stay focused on their job. There is a lot
of new regulation that came out this year that affects businesses.
One role of HR in a company is to unravel the byzantine
employment regulations using their expertise and to advise
management about how they affect the business.
 . Hire strategically, hire right : Another way HR is important for
managers is that it can assist with strategic hires.
 HR Manages and Reduces Employee Turnover : Experienced HR
professionals know how to select new employees that will adapt to
your business environment with ease, thus costing you little to
train them. HR professionals are also able to see if the needs of
your organization are changing and provide training for your
employees so that they can continue to have the necessary skills
and work efficiently. When you have a good on-boarding process,
this makes it more likely that a newly hired employee will stay
with your organization longer and help it grow.

BASIC TERMS

 PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
It is the process of reviewing the an employees
performance during the preceding year or cycle and
deciding whether he or she stands as far as their peers in
the same band are concerned.

 PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL
It is the systematic process in which the employees job
performance is being evaluated in relation to the projects
on which the employee has worked and his contribution
to the organisation. It is also known as annual review
and performance review.
