Abstract
• These days automation has changed the world as we know. We need more and
more automated system to make human tasks faster and easier. So here we
automate another strenuous work of hacksaw cutting. Human hacksaw cutting is
very strenuous and requires a lot of effort. This is not feasible large scale and
accurate cutting.
• So our proposed system automates the hacksaw cutting with quadruple sided
technique where we operate 4 hacksaws using a single mechanism.
3) The objective of this project is to save man power and time in cutting materials
in order to achieve high productivity.
4) By using Crank And Slider Mechanism we can operate four hacksaw at same
time
5) Use of The total energy of motor so that in minimum time and minimum cost we
can do the work

Slider and Crank Mechanism
A crank is an arm attached at right angles to a rotating shaft by which reciprocating
motion is imparted to or received from the shaft. It is used to convert circular
motion into reciprocating motion or vice versa. The slider crank mechanism is used
to transform rotational motion into transitional motion by means of rotating driving
beam, a connecting rod and sliding body.

Types of Saw blades
The types of blades which are generally used material cutting
1) High Carbon Steel
2) Bi-Metallic Steel
3) High Speed Steel
4) Low Alloy Steel
From the table, for cutting given types of materials following pairs are
suggested,
From the table, following conclusions are made on account of wear resistance
1) High Speed Steel has less wear working with Mild Steel.
2) Low Alloy Steel has good wear resistance working with Brass.
3) High Carbon Steel when working with Aluminum

• The links one end is connected with the end of hacksaw frame and second end is
connected with the metal of eccentric centre
• The buckle type elements are connected at the end of hacksaw frame and link is
connected in buckle, pipe provide support of the hacksaw frame, the pipe is connect
to the base, Vice is also fit on pipe and which also connect with the base
• When it get rotated slider crank mechanism is used to transform rotational motion
into transitional motion by means of rotating driving beam. So we get linear motion
the frame moves front & back it cuts the work piece
Advantages
• It is easy to operate.
• It reduces the work of labor.
• Easy to make because of simple construction.
• High production rate.Cost is less.
• Easy maintenance and maintenance cost is less.
• It resists all atmospheric effects
Disadvantage
• Speed variation is required for cutting the different metal
• It’s not useful for large scale industries
• The attachment is not compact & rigid in size
Applications
• In Small scale industry
• In workshops
• In construction industry
CONCLUSION
• Time and labor plays a major role in production process this can be
overcome by using this type of automatic machines.
FUTURE SCOPE
• It is realized that customary hacksaw machine can be supplanted with
Automated Quadruple Hacksaw machine
• In fully automated machine the operator need not measure the length of the
work-piece that is to be cut and to load and unload the work-piece each time
after a piece has been cut.
• The operator need to only enter the two input namely the number of pieces to
be cut and the length of each piece that is required to be cut.
• The inputs can be given by the operator with the help of a keypad and an
LCD display,
