Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)

The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is a decision-making method that can help choose between alternatives when there are multiple objectives to consider. It involves breaking the decision down into a hierarchy, then using pairwise comparisons to determine the relative importance of each objective and score each alternative based on how it performs on each objective. The scores are combined based on the weights to determine an overall score for each alternative, with the highest scoring one being the recommended choice.

Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)

Introduction
When multiple objectives are important to
decision maker, it is often difficult to choose
between alternatives.

Ex: choosing a job, choosing leader, etc

Choosing job
• Objective 1 : High starting salary
• Objective 2 : Quality of life in city where the
job located
• Objective 3 : Interest of work
• Objective 4 : Nearness of a job
Quality Interest of Nearness to
salary of life Work family

job1 0.5714 0.1593 0.0882 0.0824

job2 0.2857 0.2519 0.6687 0.3151

job3 0.1429 0.5889 0.2431 0.6025

w1 w2 w3 w4

0.5115 0.0986 0.2433 0.1466

result

job1 0.341517
job2 0.379861
job3 0.278632

Job yang terpilih adalah job 2

Pairwise Comparison Matrices
• Untuk mendapatkan bobot untuk beberapa
objectives. Kita membuat Pairwise
Comparison matrices.
• Matrik terdiri dari baris i dan kolom j
• Nilai nya disebut aij yang menunjukkan tingkat
kepentingan objective i dan kolom j. aij berisi
nilai integer 1-9
Determine the weight
Value of aij interpretation
1 Objective i and j are equally important
3 Objective i is slightly more important than j
5 Objective i is strongly more important than j
7 Objective i is very strongly more important than j
9 Objective i is absolutely more important than j
