Batch 22

The document describes the implementation of a smart electricity meter that allows users to recharge credit like a mobile phone. The proposed system uses a NodeMCU microcontroller connected to a current sensor to monitor electricity usage. When credit runs low, it triggers a relay to cut power to loads. Users can recharge credit over WiFi. This prepaid metering system reduces manual reading costs and allows users more control over electric bills compared to traditional postpaid systems.

OBJECTIVE:
• The main objective is to implement a prepaid energy meter with
indication of low balance .
Review 1 Comments

We choose Fleet management system in 1st review. Suggested to change the

project due to some drawbacks. Replace ARM processor with NodeMCU to
reduce the cost.
INTRODUCTION:

• An electricity meter is a device that measures the amount of electric

energy consumed by residence or electrically powered device.
• Smart electricity meter is a concept in which we can recharge its balance
like we do in our mobile phones.
• It is designed for the electric consumers to have control over the electric
bills.
EXISTING SYSTEM:

• In existing system, we have to pay extra charges when more current is

used or after the due date.
• The metering and billing process in the existing system is that a person
should go to each person’s house and note the readings. This is a waste of
time and the readings are also not accurate.
PROPOSED SYSTEM:
• In the proposed system the users may recharge when they intended to
use the facility. This puts forward a innovative electricity billing and “use
as needed “ electricity usage scheme.
• The proposed system reduces the deployment of man power for taking
meter readings
• There is no need to pay extra charges and it also saves time.

INTERFACING CURRENT SENSOR WITH NODE MCU
Relay:

• A relay is a electrical switch that opens and closes

under the control of another electrical circuit.
• Load current: 10A at 250V AC
• Maximum switching current: 10A
• Maximum switching voltage: 250V AC
• Pick up time: 30ms
• Release time: 30ms
Interfacing of Node MCU with relay
Load:

• A load is an electronic component that consumes electric

power
• In household the most common electrical loads include
bulbs and appliances.
Source Supply:

• A source supply is a component that supplies power to atleast one electric

load.
• Generally the source supply is a transformer.
Power Supply:

• 7805 is a voltage regulator integrated circuit in power supply. Generally it

is a 7805 series of fixed linear voltage regulators Ics.
