Project Introduction
The introduction of the study is to prepare a detail field report
on the performance appraisal procedure of UNITED BANK
OF INDIA and its linkage with other system of human
resource management (training, promotion, transfer, etc.).
o To know the attitude and behaviour of the employees of
UNITED BANK OF INDIA.
o To study about the various performance appraisal
techniques, uses, etc.
o To understand the working environment of UNITED BANK
OF INDIA.
Company profile
The United Bank of India Ltd., was formed in 1950 with the
amalgamation of four banks viz. Camilla Banking
Corporation Ltd. (1914), Bengal Central Bank Ltd. (1918),
Camilla Union Bank Ltd. (1922) and Hooghly Bank Ltd.
(1932) (which were established in the years indicated in
brackets after the names).
Objectives of the study
The main objectivity of the study was to evaluate the Employee
management process and how to make the employees more
effective to face the new challenges and opportunities for the
changing market condition.

● To improve knowledge, skills and efficiency of employees to


obtain individual development.
● To identify the employee preferences towards their work
location.
● To increase the job satisfaction and morale among the
employees.
Methodology
 Methods of data collection
Primary Data sources:
 Practical banking work.
 Personal discussion with the officers and executives of UNITED BANK OF
INDIA .

 Secondary Data sources:


• Various publications on banking operation,
• Website of UNITED BANK OF INDIA ,
• Annual Report of the UNITED BANK OF INDIA ,
• Different circulars issued by Head Office and RBI

Data Analysis
We can see From the table that the 91 employees send
their prayers through proper channels 74 number of
employees send their prayers not in the proper manners
and only 3 employees send their prayers directly to Head
Office .
FINDING OF THE STUDY
Positive Findings :

 Performance target was communicated for the overall


performance of an employee throughout the year.
 Performance Appraisal in UNITED BANK OF INDIA was
for training, transfer, promotions etc.
 Employees find that HR department woks very actively.

Negative Findings

If the employees are given proper counseling then they


are expected to perform in a better manner.
Appraisal Assessment and feedback system must be
transparent
Limitations of the project

 The employees were not ready to give the information.


 Some of the information might not be exactly correct.
 Time constraint was a serious problem as time was
limited
RECOMMENDETION

• Management should give a chance to the employees to


express their feelings and opinions.
• Management should maintain good communication with
the employees.
• Friendly environment should be provided to the
employees
CONCLUSION
Performance Appraisal is a sensitive issue because its not
only appraisal for the achievers but also punishments and
warnings to the low contributors. This factor is quite
crucial for any organization to achieve its objectives.
