Neil Alden Armstrong was born in Wapakoneta, Ohio, United States, on
August 5, 1930.
His parents were Stephen Koenig Armstrong and Viola Louise Engel, who
later placed Armstrong in her behalf.
Stephen, his dad, was an auditor, and his mom, Viola, was a housewife.
He got his pilot’s license when he was 16, at 1946, and later, at 1947, he
graduated on Purdue University, starting his aeronautical engineering studies.
At 1952, Neil Armstrong entered on an organization called NASA (National
Aeronautics and Space Administration).
Neil Armstrong married Janet Shearon on January 28, 1956, who later
had three children.
Eric, Mark, and Karen, who unfortunately died with 3 years old.
At 1962, Neil’s family moved to Texas so he could work with the astronaut
program.
So then he became an astronaut, and eventually became famous.
Neil Armstrong’s most important events were Apollo 11, and Gemini 8
space missions.
On 1969, Neil Armstrong went to the Moon.
Neil Armstrong received 10 awards,
General James E. Hill Lifetime Space Achievement Award.
On 1971, Neil Armstrong left Nasa.
He became a professor on Ohio.
On 1994, Neil Armstrong divorced.
On 1999, Neil Armstrong got remarried to Carol Held Knight, and
stayed with her until his death.
On 2012, Neil Armstrong died after complications from heart surgery,
in Ohio.
