Lesson 65 Visualizing Congruent Polygons

This document provides a lesson plan on visualizing congruent polygons. It includes activities for students to identify different polygons, measure sides and angles to determine if polygons are congruent, and examples of congruent objects in the classroom. The lesson defines congruent polygons as those with the same shape and size where a tracing of one fits exactly onto the other and corresponding angles and sides are congruent. Students are assessed on identifying congruent figures.

LESSON 65: VISUALIZING

CONGRUENT POLYGONS
. DRILL
CLIMBING THE LADDER MECHANICS

•Group the pupils into two; boys and girls. Let them select one
representative for each question.
•Flash the cutouts of each geometric figures and let it be
identified.
•The pupils who will answer the question will step one ladder up.
The first group to rich the top will be the winner.

CONGRUENT SIDES.
I AM A 4-SIDE POLYGON
WITH CONGRUENT
SIDES.
I HAVE 10 SIDES.
I AM A FOUR SIDED
POLYGON WITH ONE

I HAVE 8 SIDES.

•B. DISTRIBUTE ENVELOPES WITH CUT OUTS OF POLYGONS.
•C. LET THE PUPILS TRACE THE POLYGONS INSIDE THE
ENVELOPE AND CUT IT WITH SCISSORS. LET THEM
MEASURE THE SIDES AND THE ANGLES. LET THEM PASTE
THE POLYGONS IN PAIR IN THE BOARD.
