Second Order High Pass Filter

A second order high pass filter can be created by adding an extra RC network to the input of a first order high pass filter. It produces a gain roll off of +40dB/decade in the stop band, similar to a second order Butterworth high pass filter. The second order high pass filter can also be realized by interchanging the resistor and capacitor positions of a second order low pass Butterworth filter and its voltage gain is determined by a specific equation relating to frequency response and filter design procedures.

SECOND ORDER HIGH

PASS FILTER
 A first order high pass active filter can converted into a
second order high pass filter by using an extra RC
network in the input side .
 Second Order High Pass Butterworth Filter: The second
order high pass Butterworth filter produces a gain roll off
at the rate of + 40 dB/decade in the stop band.
 This filter also can be realised by interchanging the
positions of resistors and capacitors in a second order
low pass Butterworth filter.
