Rationale
The study is about the availability of Senior High School facilities and its
probable effect to the teaching and learning process. This study would like to
emphasize that effective school facility is responsive to the changing programs of
educational delivery, and at a minimum should provide a physical environment
that is comfortable, safe, secure, accessible, well illuminated, well ventilated, and
aesthetically pleasing.
The school facility consists of not only the physical structure and the variety of
building systems, such as mechanical, plumbing, electrical and power, and security. The
facility also includes furnishings, materials and supplies, equipment and information
technology, as well as various building such as library, audio-visual and laboratories.
Objectives
The main objective of this study is to determine the availability of the School Facilities
and its effect to the teaching and learning process. Specifically, it would like to identify
the facilities that were adequate or inadequate in the department and its relationship to
the teaching-learning process. Furthermore, this study also aims to formulate a
fundable project proposal that will be anchored on the findings of this research. Based
on the results of this study, data will be utilized to create a project that will help the
department attained its goal to provide a quality education to its clienteles.
Expected Output/s
The study is expected to be the key in formulating a fundable project proposal
that will cater the facilities and equipment needs of the Senior High School
department in a 21st century setting. These are essential to promote not only a
more conducive learning environment for students, but also an effective,
technically-equipped teaching and learning process.
Users
The study will benefit for the improvement and development of the SHS
department and it will also help to provide for the needs of the students and the
faculty in the teaching and learning process.
Methodology
The study will be using mixed method employing 75% Quantitative and 25%
Qualitative research design since the researchers will conduct a survey method and
interview. Senior High School Students of the department will be selected using
random sampling technique to identify the respondents. As regards to the Faculty of the
department, complete enumeration will be used.
