The document discusses the discussion method of teaching. It defines discussion method as a group activity involving the teacher and students to define problems and seek solutions. It requires listening, thinking, and speaking skills from students. The method involves three steps - orientation, engagement, and debriefing. In orientation, the teacher provides the topic and question and explains how the discussion will be conducted. In engagement, the teacher encourages participation and keeps the discussion focused and progressive. In debriefing, the teacher allows reflection and summarizes what was learned. The method emphasizes learning over teaching and fosters democratic thinking and self-expression, though it requires more time and effort than other methods.
