Structural Idealization
As of last topic we analyzed thin-walled sections used to stiffen the
outer skin of fuselage, wing and tail surfaces.
In actual structure, it consists of different kinds of sections to withstand the outer skin from
bending and shear loads. So analyzing the structures gets complicated.
so the complex structure must be simplified based on some assumptions by idealized into
simpler sections, under given loading conditions.
Consider the structure having sub-parts (Eg. Spar, Stringer etc.) in the outer skin and is subjected
to loading, the direct stresses are experienced by the sub-parts only and the skin will be effective
in shear done.
This kind of structure is known as idealized structure also known as shear-web structures.

section where boom (stringers) areas are 4 cm2 and it is subjected to a
vertical load of 50 N at the shear center.
