Tugdan National High School ICT Center

History
Tugdan National High School Information Technology Center was
established School Year 2008-2009 under the administration of Mrs.
Rosemarie M. Mangaring. The center was created because TNHS was a
recipient of the ICT-4E, a DepEd’s computerization program. The school was
awarded with eleven (11) network ready computers with one 3 in 1 printer.
Prior to the establishment of the center, the school already have 7 computers
from the PDAF of then congressman Eduardo C. Firmalo which also accepted
and manage by Mr. Michael N. Galicia, the first TNHS ICT Coordinator. Upon
assumption of office of now ICT Coordinator Randy A. Musa, the seven (7)
computer units were no longer working and it was already in beyond repair
state.
During the administration of Mrs. Melicia R. Galicia, the eleven (11)
units were repaired and upgraded. In October 2012, ICT Center has been a
recipient of the DepEd Internet Connectivity Program (DICP). Year 2013, the
center has been renovated and complies with the K to 12 standard Facility with
lecture, hands-on and assessment area.
Today, it caters students with Computer System Servicing
specialization. The center also expecting the delivery of the 50 units LAN
ready computer units.

Energy Efficiency and Saving
Since the center houses electrical equipment's and other
devices, it is a common notion that it consumes almost 60% of the
schools electricity supply. It is a myth because, computers are
energy efficient and we are no longer using it in typing and
browsing but in computer repair (Hardware Servicing). When the
air-conditioning is in use, the center has air curtain that traps and
contain the air inside the laboratory. Aside from that, the air
conditioning unit is being maintained and cleaned regularly.
Lightings also replaced from Tubular Fluorescent lamp with 40
watts into 20 watts Compact Fluorescent Lamp and LED lamps.

Students also monitored it for it was displayed in a conspicuous
place inside the laboratory room.
