Team Trivia
How to play: At the beginning of the week, ask
your team to submit a few interesting facts about
themselves. These can include
accomplishments, actions and interests that
make them unique. Host a trivia game at the end
of the week featuring questions only about your
team!
Pro tip: Allow for questions and an explanation
after each question and answer. This will help
your team bond and inspire quiet teammates to
come out of their shells.

Trivia Deck Template
TGIF
Playlist

How to Play: Ask employees to share one song

that helps them stay motivated, happy or
positive no matter what. Compile the songs into
a YouTube or Spotify playlist during the
workweek. At the end of the week, share the
collected songs with the team in an email or at a
meeting. Rinse and repeat as needed!
Add themes, parameters for advanced play.
For example, keep the songs from the 70s, 80s
or 90s, or within a specific genre such as rap,
rock, country, etc.
What Do
You Meme?

What Do You Meme?

How to play: Encourage employees to share
funny memes from the day before. Have each
person share their meme, and vote on the
funniest at the end – all while keeping it
professional, of course.
› It may help to have the memes be themed
for each round of play. For example, find a
meme about working from home for the
first meeting, and a meme about movies in
the second meeting, then music, etc.
Guess Who

Purpose: Learning fun facts about one another is especially important for remote teams, as being remote can be very
isolating. Knowing that you and your coworker share a love of an obscure 80’s band, or both studied abroad in Ireland,
can make for a meaningful connection that wouldn’t exist otherwise. It’s a simple way to spark friendship-forming
discussions.
Pre-Meeting Prep: Have your team submit one (unknown!) fact about themselves to the leader. The zanier the better–
everyone has a few of these experiences that wouldn’t have come up in conversation naturally.

How it works: During the meeting, read each fact aloud to the group, and have the team guess which fact belongs to which
team member. You can also incorporate them within the meeting deck. At the end of each round, the team can cast votes and
discover if they got them right.

Pro Tip: If it’s a small team (5 or less), it works well to read all the facts at once, then have everyone try to match them up.
If you’re 6+, it works well to do multiple rounds, so that everyone can remember the facts that you read.
Bring on the JOY
What’s Making Me Happy?
How to play: Ask the team to share photos,
memories, writings or anecdotes of what’s
keeping them happy. This can include pet
photos, encouraging quotes, articles they’ve
read, books, television shows and more. These
can be used for a meeting icebreaker, a
meeting break, or the end of a meeting to have
a positive wrap. Go around to everyone to
spread the most happiness! Make sure
everyone has something to share.
All Things Vacations

Time to Talk Travel

How to play: Ask your team to share photos
of themselves and/or their family on past
vacations. The team can take turns guessing
where each photo was taken. Ask each person
sharing a photo to provide at least three clues
to encourage more guesses and participation.
Make sure everyone has at least one picture to
share. Remember, no location is too near or
too far!
Blast from the Past
Blast from the Past
How to play: Ask your team to share photos of
themselves from a bygone era. The team can take
turns guessing when each photo was taken. A fun
idea is to use high school graduation pictures --
even baby pictures! Make sure everyone has  a
picture to share and that everyone has a chance to
participate.
Pro tip: Have your team prepare three clues.
This may include who was president, what song
was popular on the radio or what clothing was in
fashion for that era!
Coffee or Tea – Brunch or Lunch
Virtual coffee hours, brunches, luncheons, and dinners

What to do: There’s nothing like sharing a meal to help

build a connection with your colleagues. Suggest a virtual
coffee hour, brunch, luncheon or even dinner with your
team! Company luncheons, brunches, and dinners are all
excellent opportunities to connect over video chat. If there’s
an annual dinner that got cancelled because of COVID-19,
why not consider rescheduling it as a virtual meetup?
Pro Tip: Have people take turns showcasing the things they
brought or prepared to eat. Giving people a chance to show
off their culinary skills and favorite home recipes is a great
way to break the ice and build rapport.

Leader Tip: If you’re certain of a high level of trust and comfort within your team, try one of these deeper questions. These get more to
the core of what people care about in life, and can make for meaningful team bonding for your virtual team. As someone starts
demonstrating vulnerability, this can encourage others to open up about their own goals, dreams and needs too.

Conference
Call BINGO

Conference Call Bingo

How to Play: Prior to a meeting, team leaders distribute
Conference Call Bingo cards. Players mark out boxes as the call
goes on and these actions occur. There are two ways to play:
› As a team: The team collectively marks the bingo card as the
meeting goes on. The team will assign a Bingo card marker.
› Competitively:  Each team member gets an individualized
Conference Call Bingo card, with the same boxes filled out but
scrambled so that team members play against one another.
› Optional: The winner receives Amplifi points with options to
award second and third place.
› Cards can be made and distributed via a link here:
www.bingobaker.com
› Email communication sample is attached here for reference.
Two
Minute
Podcast
Two-Minute Podcasts
How to Play: At the beginning of the week, team leaders will field subject
material from the team for a two-minute podcast during the meeting. The
team leader will pick the most interesting/ engaging topics to cover during
the meeting or take a vote from meeting participants about what they want to
learn about.
› Can be repeated given the amount of virtual meetings now taking place.
› Can serve as an ice breaker, a meeting break or a great way to wrap up a
meeting. A great way to engage employees on non-work topics or segue
into work-related topics.
› A great way to develop or celebrate employee public speaking skills.
Q&A
Session
How to Play: Before a meeting begins, allow time for everyone to answer a
thought-provoking and revealing question. You’ll get to know your team
better and start some stimulating conversations!
Some examples include:
› If you could live anywhere on this planet without having to leave anyone
or anything behind, where would you live and why?
› If you could choose one age to stay forever, how old would you choose to
be and why?
› What superpower would you choose and why?
› Name three (pieces of media like music, movies, books) that you think
about a lot.
Virtual
Lunch &
Learns

For remote employees, lunch could be a great time to facilitate engagement and online team building. Bring in an “expert”
to share a presentation or talk while folks are eating at home! It’s like a private TED Talk for your remote team!

How it works:
Get your remote team on a video call, and bring in an expert to lead a talk. This “expert” could be an outside speaker you
hire (someone with insights into communication skills, how to stay motivated when working from home, health and
wellness, or non-work topics too that might be interesting!).

Your “expert” could also be someone on the team, and it could feel like a skillshare where for each Lunch and Learn, one
virtual employee shares something they’re knowledgeable and passionate about!

Time Commitment:
15-30 minutes is a good presentation length (if a team member is sharing the complete history of Lord of the Rings, 15
minutes will feel plenty long to most people). Organize this for during the lunch hour, and encourage your team to eat while
they watch!

2 Second Helpings Atlanta is starting a corporate fundraising campaign in order to continue its strong work solving
hunger in Metro Atlanta. Historically the organization has focused on foundation and individual giving but given its
growing impact on hunger in Atlanta it desires to develop corporate fundraising as its “third leg of the stool.” Volunteers
have started reaching out to companies in Atlanta to identify good contacts within the company that can help the
organization evaluate if the company’s donation and social marketing strategy is a good fit for hunger in general, and
Second Helpings Atlanta in particular. This work can be as little or as much as you make it.  It can all be done virtually,
and even 30 minutes a week would be a huge help! Contact Dan Sterling, Development Chair for Second Helpings
