BETWEEN vs AMONG

- use AMONG when talking about 3 or more people or things. For 2


people or things, use BETWEEN.
OVER = ABOVE - The kite was above us in the sky.

UNDER /UNDERNEATH (directly below something, and sometimes


touching or covered by it)
- What’s under(neath) your desk?
- under the law
- under normal circumstances
- under pressure
- under control

BELOW (lower or less than something)


- The temperature is below zero.
IN FRONT OF - In front of the house there is a garden.

NEAR - The house is near the road.

BEHIND - The bicycle is behind the car.

ALONG - We walked along the road.


The trees are planted along the street.

AGAINST - Don’t lean against the fence!


The bookcase is against the wall.
